In its second year, Transforming Wine expanded, curating 6 speakers each a master in their craft and filling the room with industry leaders at the forefront of leveraging data.

Kara has received numerous accolades, including being named EY Entrepreneur Of The Year 2017 Northern California, one of In Style’s 2019 Badass 50, one of Fast Company’s Most Creative People in Business and one of Fortune’s Most Powerful Women Entrepreneurs. The Huffington Post listed her as one of six disruptors in business, alongside Steve Jobs and Mark Zuckerberg.
Previously, Kara was at AOL, where she helped lead the growth of its shopping and ecommerce
business to over $1 billion.
In 2016, she launched The Kara Network, a mentoring platform to help other entrepreneurs, and she recently launched the podcast Unstoppable, where she interviews disruptors across various industries.

Jeff was the co-founder and CEO of Crashlytics, an award-winning mobile crash-reporting service that's installed on over 5 Billion active smartphones worldwide. After Twitter acquired Crashlytics in 2013, he was named Senior Director, Developer Platform and oversaw Twitter's developer- and publisher-facing product efforts. Crashlytics was then acquired by Google in 2017 and is now the de-facto crash reporting solution for Android.
Jeff previously co-founded Increo in 2007 and served as its COO until its acquisition by Box in 2009. At Box, he was the Engineering Manager for desktop sync and mobile, and led the company's R&D office in Boston.
He is a frequent presenter on both entrepreneurial and technical topics, and has lectured at Stanford, Harvard, and MIT.


Michael has been in the marketing research industry for over 20 years and has held senior executive positions in client services, product development, and business development. Michael is an award-winning researcher and is a MRIA's “Best in Class” award recipient in 2003 for the best overall research study in Canada, and more recently “Best Paper” at the November 2012 ESOMAR Digital 3D Dimensions conference in Amsterdam.
He is a Certified Marketing Research Professional (CMRP) and has an undergraduate degree in Political Science from McMaster University.

Currently, her multi-discplinary team of like-minded scientists, technologists and business leaders:
- Identify growth opportunities for the winery
- create new technology, product and brand innovation and
- launch new opportunities into the marketplace

In September 2018 Emetry hosted the Wine Industry's first Data Summit, focused on bringing together leaders in the industry and beyond for 1 day of through-provoking discussion about data in the wine industry.

Previously Galloni was lead critic at Robert Parker's The Wine Advocate, where he covered the wines of California, Italy, Burgundy and Champagne. Galloni spearheaded the production of The Wine Advocate's video content, engineered numerous public events (including many charity events) and managed the world's most successful bulletin board on Italian wines. In 2004, while a graduate student at MIT, Galloni founded Piedmont Report, the first specialist English-language journal focused on Italian wine. In 2014, Galloni paired with Stephen Tanzer, whose International Wine Cellar publication has now been incorporated into Vinous.

Barry was part of the team that grew Netflix from a small startup in 2001 to an international, 26-million user brand in 2012. While creating a loyal and high performing team dedicated to the visual identity of the entire brand at Netflix, he led the global customer acquisition and conversion efforts in the US, Canada, Latam, UK, and Ireland. Focusing on the customer experience or “being the voice of the consumer”, he relied on brand marketing including digital, social and traditional media to provide powerful data-backed insights.
After Netflix, Barry moved on to co-found Kaizen Creative Partnership where he remained as a partner until 2017. Kaizen Creative Partnership helped companies including MZ, Texture, jet.com, Gametime, Lynda.com and 99designes grow through thoughtful, strategic foundation of brand positioning based on consumer research and its translation into marketing messaging. Barry became the Vice President of Brand, Marketing and Communications at MZ (Machine Zone Inc.) where he remained for a year. Barry currently serves as a Principal for BWE Consulting and is an Advisory Board Member at BWG Strategy LLC.

Felix began his professional career at Accenture in 2003 where he performed ad-hoc analyses and data migrations among other responsibilities in product and team development. After his stint at accenture, Felix consulted in IT Strategy with Capgemini before moving on Corporate Development with T-Mobile where he later became the Director of Corporate Strategy and Analytics. Felix eventually left T-Mobile to be the CEO of FetchIt where he was responsible for product and shareholder management along with market and consumer research and analytics.
Felix has also served as the Director of Data Science at the W2O Group where Felix used his team of data scientist to push the boundaries of social network analytics. His other responsibilities included performing sales statistics using muti-variate linear modeling and decision forests and spearheading new algorithms while identifying machine-learning opportunities.
Felix obtained his Master’s and Bachelor’s Degrees from the University of Cologne.

Her in-house experience further developed her understanding of how to utilize multiple methodologies to analyze the influence of services and products. She has a proven track record of leveraging tangible insights to provide recommendations that result in effective marketing campaigns.

After founding and serving as CEO of K1 Technology, Andrew, in April of 2008 founded Vin65. In 2012, Andrew sold Vin65 to WineDirect where he remained as President and COO. At WineDirect, Andrew was responsible for technology development and the integration of WineDirect’s full suite of services. During his period at WineDirect, Andrew bootstrapped the company and grew it to provide ecommerce and POS to over 1500 wineries with over $800 million in sales. Andrew has defined, created and delivered best-in-class commerce and fulfillment product offerings.
He has held the position of VP of Ecommerce, CTO, COO and President.
Mr. Kamphuis holds a business degree from Simon Fraser University.

Wanting to take his passion for food & beverage further, Daniel diversified his technology skill set within big data, payments, and various merchant applications. Daniel has worked with multiple companies within the restaurant technology space, including Omnivore, WePay and Presto, and has helped thousands of merchants improve their technology stack to further optimize their operations with cutting-edge software and focused strategy.

Ken drives strategic thinking and ideation based on in-depth digital knowledge and analytics; guides development and application of new media tools and technology to gain consumer insights; and integrates talent, technology and capabilities to optimize use of digital channels creating game-changing solutions that build and grow clients’ business.
Ken has held digital leadership positions at Ernst & Young and Digitas and has worked with some of the biggest names in marketing, including American Express, Proctor & Gamble, Kraft, General Motors, Chevrolet, Delta Airlines, Walgreens, MillerCoors, Pfizer, the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Postal Service.
